CAPTURE THE SOUL CREATIONS Welcome to my world of colour
My work is about playing with breaking down images into individual blocks of colour which sometimes creates a watery abstract quality.  In my work I focus on vivid colour and symmetry to create eye catching composition.   ABOUT - AISHA CHIGUICHON Aisha Chiguichon has loved and had a passion for the world of art all her life and has always had the desire to create it. She is a self-taught artist whose style and techniques have evolved over many years. Aisha has earned a certificate in Art and Design from the Ontario College of Art and Design University to further hone her skills.Although born in Canada, she spent her childhood growing up in the Caribbean islands before returning to Canada as a teen. She uses her Caribbean and Canadian upbringing as inspiration for some of the subject matter for her work. The bright, colourful and vibrant culture of the Caribbean is where she finds the inspiration for the colour schemes for all of her work.  The island culture is about diversity of life, food and people and she reflects this in the diversity of her subject matter. She is a realist style artist, but loves playing with breaking down images into individual blocks of colour which sometimes creates a watery abstract quality.  In all her works she focuses on vivid colour and symmetry to create eye catching composition. Her artwork has been exhibited in several Juried and group art shows as well as galleries in the Durham Region and Toronto. She is a member of the Oshawa Art Association executive committee as well as an active member of Toronto West Arts Collaborative.  In adddition she was a Critic's Choice Prize winner at the 2015 CNE TWAC Juried Art Exhibit. On a personal note, she was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus SLE in 2008 and have determined to lend her support to fund research for a cure. A percentage of all her works will be donated to Lupus Research.  For more information on this "disease of a thousand faces" visit the Lupus Ontario website.
